The Inland Empire LGBTQ+ Center was founded in 2023 by Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes, TruEvolution President & CEO Gabriel Maldonado, and community leader Jesse Melgar, three Inland Empire natives who have dedicated their careers to advancing the fight for social justice.
The Center is located in downtown Riverside on TruEvolution's Project Legacy campus. We are here to support, educate, and advocate for LGBTQ+ individuals living in the Inland Empire and, at the same time, promote the health & well-being of transgender, lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, nonbinary, immigrant, and HIV+ communities by providing a safe and inclusive community space.
TruEvolution announced Toi Thibodeaux as the Inaugural Program Director of the Inland Empire LGBTQ+ Center. Thibodeaux will provide strategic direction to the Center's programming, liaise with LGBTQ+ organizations throughout the region, and manage its facilities, including its new community meeting room.
The Center will oversee the TruEvolution IE LGBTQ+ Legacy Fund, established to support capacity building for the limited number of emerging LGBTQ+ community organizations serving Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
The Center is here to be a resource for all residents throughout Riverside and San Bernardino counties and provide a safe space and community facilities for LGBTQ+ serving groups to gather and meet.
